Bergen
Similar to Stavanger, Bergen centre is easy to walk around, with gamle Bergen on one side of the harbour and the newer part of town on the other side. Bergen has a slightly more cosmopolitan feel due to the university right in the centre of town and quite large numbers of tourists.
Highlights
The fish market
A great place to wander and gawp.
Fløibanen (the funicular)
A trip from the city centre up Mt Fløyen for lovely views of the city and some pleasant walking trails.
Troldhaugen
Edvard Grieg's home. Picturesque and very interesting.
Mt Ulriken cable car
Easy to get to by bus from Bergen centre. It's possible to walk from the top of Mt Ulriken round to the top of the funicular, then ride back down into Bergen. The views are beautiful.
